The IMRF Awards are in their 6th year and are internationally recognised and highly regarded by the maritime SAR community worldwide.

Quite simply, there is no better way to recognise your colleagues for their outstanding actions and commitment or an innovation / technology that makes all the difference to your organisation and SAR activities.

This year - because of the pandemic – the nomination period covers both 2020 and 2021. Any nominations already submitted for the postponed 2020 IMRF Awards, will be included for consideration.

Nominations for the IMRF Awards 2021 closed at 23.59 hours (GMT) on 16 July 2021.

The Awards Ceremony will take place ‘virtually’ online.

The action(s) covered by the nomination should have taken place between 1 July 2019 and 31 May 2021.

There are five IMRF Award categories: TeamIndividualLifetime Achievement#WomeninSAR and best Innovation & Technology.

Over the last year so many of our SAR colleagues have gone above and beyond to help maritime SAR organisations cope with the challenges of the global pandemic, for example by:

- Redesigning training courses, so that they can be delivered remotely;
- Rescheduling events and doing everything it takes to make them work online;
- Adapting procedures or producing guidelines that have enabled SAR operations to be delivered  safely and in a COVID-compliant way.

The last year has been exceptionally hard for everyone!

This is just one way to show your appreciation, to recognise exceptional people, outstanding contributions to SAR operations, incredible SAR skills and knowledge, technology or innovative equipment that just make maritime SAR ‘better’ – and, ultimately, save more lives!
