The IMRF is looking for a search and rescue (SAR) organisation to host its World Maritime Rescue Congress (WMRC) in 2027.

WMRC is the world’s largest gathering of SAR organisations and an incredible event to collaborate and share best practices with other industry professionals around the world. The event, which takes place every four years and attracts hundreds of SAR personnel and equipment, includes a live exercise, Congress sessions and workshops, as well as hosting the IMRF’s Quadrennial General Meeting.

WMRC is also a fantastic opportunity to showcase the host organisation, including their teams, equipment and operations. The host organisation, which must be an IMRF member, must also be in a position to deliver an event of this scale, as well as being able to commit to the time and financial requirements of hosting the event.

If you are interested in hosting WMRC 2027 or would like to know more about the requirements involved, please email Caroline Jupe at [email protected].

To support your application, please provide short answers to the following questions:

  • Why is your SAR organisation best placed to host WMRC 2027?
  • How would you be able to deliver an event of this scale?
  • Are there any new or unique ideas that your organisation would bring to WMRC 2027?

Any applications must be submitted by 30 May 2023 and sent to [email protected]  The decision to host WMRC 2027 will be decided by the IMRF Board in early June 2023.

We are also always looking for IMRF members to host IMRF Annual Meetings, Training Courses and Workshops. If you are interested in hosting an event like this, please contact [email protected].
