Theresa Crossley, the CEO of the IMRF, will be retiring next year and the Trustees are now seeking a suitable successor to take on this challenging role.

International Maritime Rescue Federation

Chief Executive

London

£80,000

Many thousands of people in distress in the world’s waters are rescued every year by maritime search and rescue (SAR) organisations, but still too many perish: an estimated 236,000 each year according to the World Health Organization.

Many of these deaths could be prevented with more effective maritime SAR coordination and response.

To help tackle this challenge, we bring the world’s maritime SAR organisations together in one global - and growing - family, and provide the international voice for maritime SAR at the highest level with consultative status at the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Our goal is to build on our impact and reach so that we are recognised by all government institutions and search and rescue organisations across the world.

As our new Chief Executive you will raise our profile and influence across major institutions, national governments and smaller member organisations, whilst growing our membership and developing new income streams.

Ultimately this will enable IMRF to be widely recognised as the ‘NGO subject matter expert on maritime SAR’ and ultimately save more lives.

We are looking for an ambitious, collaborative leader who can combine strategic and operational delivery and who brings experience of working in a cross-cultural environment.

With a proven track record of influencing a diverse group of stakeholders, growing income and the ability to affect policy through strong advocacy, your collaborative approach and personal credibility will help to increase our membership and leverage our profile and networks even further.
