The IMRF is pleased to share the Specialist SAR Operations: Dealing with Potential Contamination at the Rescue Site - Webinar Recording, from the 16 March 2022.

This webinar complements the ChemSAR Manual developed by the Finnish Border Guard and other partners.

This manual contains important information valuable to any IMRF Member wishing to establish their own procedures or operational plans for maritime search and rescue (SAR) incidents involving hazardous and noxious substances (HNS).

Teemu Niemelä, Finnish Border Guard HQ, Maritime Safety Unit, Project Manager, Lieutenant Senior Grade, delivered a presentation titled “ChemSAR – Operational Plan and Procedures for Maritime SAR in HNS Incidents”.

Iosif Vourvachis, Hellenic Rescue Team (HRT), Head of Development and EU Projects, delivered a presentation titled “PathoCERT Project: Helping First Responders to Detect Pathogens in the Water”.

Our panel held a Q&A after the presentations.
