The Intelligence Hunt Project Plan We began with the team's general analysis of search and rescue in different regions. This gave us a strong foundation - a baseline of what is already known, including current risks, pressures and challenges. From there, we looked ahead to future trends and risks within each region. By applying A PESTEL analysis, we could clearly identify the external factors most likely to shape SAR operations in the years ahead. Next, we carry out scenario analysis. Here we ask questions such as 'what happens if one factor suddenly changes?' Examples could be a new law restricting SAR operations, or an extreme weather event. This shows how sensitive the system is to different external shocks. We then bring everything together. The PESTEL analysis highlights the drivers and these insights feed into an Efe matrix which helps us prioritize which external factors carry the most weight and influence. The result is a deeper, evidence-based understanding of the global SAR landscape. Throughout the project, there are several key moments to highlight the case and engage the wider SAR community. We began with the official launch where we introduce the challenge and underline its importance and impact. Next, we focussed on talent engagement, promoting student applications across campuses and social media, and celebrating the selection of the final teams. At the final showcase, an IMRF representative will join the talent team on stage, helping raise awareness of the cause and the outcomes of the project. And finally, even after the event, social media and digital content will continue to share results, insights and stories, building long term visibility and awareness for the initiative.
