The International Maritime Rescue Federation (IMRF) has been tasked by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to conduct a survey of African Member States.

The aim of the survey is to acquire a clear and up to date picture of the status of the Global Search and Rescue (SAR) Plan in Africa, State by State, so as to clarify priorities and identify focus regions for future IMO Technical Cooperation and IMRF work on developing SAR capability in the region.
