"Every day here is full of experiences and emotions."

These are the words of H.E.R.O. Awards nominee, Mania-Maria Bikof who left her home, family and work to live in a tent on the beach and save the lives of refugees in Lesbos, Greece.

Mania and her team from Lifeguard Hellas Save & Rescue Volunteer have saved tens of thousands of men, women, children and babies from drowning.

Making the decision to leave her own life behind to save others, was just the start of Mania’s story and she continues to face the challenges before her with strength and purpose and she is an inspiration to so many. She has also completed 3 IRONMAN Triathlons this year to raise awareness for the plight of the refugees.
